EU President

It's fair to say that "Mr Van Rompuy was widely tipped, but Baroness Ashton was not"

Good to see a British woman get one of the jobs, cool.
I'd prefer it if she'd been elected though, both of them in fact

These roles are not of the electable variety. The President's role is effectively as chairman of a committee.

it's interesting to see the way they've gone, which does seem to be the chair option rather than the Blair option.
I hope they make the best of it, but the fact they haven't been elected gives people a stick to beat them with
